Monthly Events:

1st & 3rd Sunday of every month - Bluegrass at the Riverwalk in Augusta at 2PM. Meet at the Riverwalk fountain (in the vicinity of the big Oaks at 8th & Reynolds St.) in downtown Augusta, GA.

1st & 3rd Thursday of every month - This jam has moved from Clover, SC to the Allison Creek Presbyterian Church at 5780 Allison rd. in York. The event begins at 7PM and is hosted by Clover Feed and Seed Bluegrass Band. Contact Tom at 803.222.5737.

1st Wednesday of every month - 7 PM Jam session with Betty B & Friends. American Legion Post 166 at 116 Howe Road, Goose Creek, SC. Contact 843.797.2677 or 843.553.5454.

1st Saturday of every month - SEBGA concert & jam in concert hall of Lynches River County Park. Inside, climate controlled facility. 12 miles south of  Florence, SC. Every Thursday - Jam session at the Pelican on West Ashley Avenue in Folly Beach from 6-9PM and they welcome beginners. Contact Jamie at 843.588.9108.

Annual Events:

March, 3rd weekend -  RENOFEST Bluegrass Festival.

This festival honors SC native and bluegrass legend Don Reno. Reno was a master singer, songwriter, and instrumentalist on both guitar and banjo. Reno taught more than a few "hot licks" to the royalty of bluegrass , including Bill Monroe, Lester Flatt, Earl Scruggs and the Stanley Brothers.  In there heyday, Reno and partner  Red Smiley, performed at Hartsville's Center Theater where the Festival in now staged.

Make plans now to attend.  The next festival activities should be released soon.

May, 2nd weekend - Conway, SC - BLUEBRASS ON THE WACCAMAW! The event is held in historic downtown Conway's Riverfront Park under the Waccamaw River Bridge, second Avenue & main. Conway is located about 20 minutes from Myrtle Beach, SC. This event is FREE to the public! All day, beginning at 1PM to 10PM. No alcohol, no coolers, no pets! Several restaurants and individual shops nearby, so bring a lawn chair and stay all day! For more information contact Jennings Chestnut at 843.248.5399.

May 21-24 - 88th Annual - Fiddler's Grove Ole Time Fiddler's and Bluegrass Festival: Competitions for bands and individuals, with special emphasis on the fiddle. Also, workshops, jamming, shape note singing, children's activities, and special performances by invited artists. Camping available on site in beautiful rural setting. June 3 - 4 - White Lake, NC -- MelFest - Seventh event with great lineup. Visit website at MelFest

September 13 - 14, Gilkey, NC--The 6th annual Gilkey Community Bluegrass Festival. Rutherford County, Old Gilkey School grounds. Contact Rick Parton at 828.287.9538.

October 4, 2008, Cayce, SC--Congaree Bluegrass Festival, Saturday,Granby Gardens Park.  Full day of bluegrass music featuring Bill Wells and the Blue Ridge Mountain Grass, Bluegrass TarHeels, Last Road Bluegrass, Coldstream Crossing, and the Sugarloaf Mountain Boys.  Banjo and guitar contests, food vendors, children’s play area.  Bring your lawn chair, but no coolers please.  Website is www.congareebluegrassfestival.com.  Contact is Tammy Barkley, City of Cayce, PO Box 2004, Cayce, SC 29171.  Telephone: 803-796-9020. 

November 27-30 - Myrtle Beach Convention Center, Myrtle Beach, SC--The South Carolina State Bluegrass Festival draws fans throughout the world with an engaging mix of music, food, art, crafts and good old-fashioned family fun.
