Young Musicians Program

SEBGA  has an active Young Musicians Program (subject to the terms and conditions). This program is designed to assist young persons, in the Pee Dee Region of South Carolina, in their musical development in traditional Bluegrass music. We provide assistance to new musicians, matching them with others that may desire to play and to form their own band. Mentoring Young Musicians is a big part of this program. Assisting them in developing musically,  in performing, stage presents and the use of microphones. While we assist all musicians, this program is aimed at young people between 8 and 18 years of age.

Prerequisites:

• Individual must be between the age of  8 and 18 years of age.
• Individual must own and desire to play an acoustic Bluegrass instrument--banjo, base, dobra, guitar, mandolin, fiddle.
• Individual must reside in the PEE DEE region of South Carolina.

Benefits:

• One (1) year complimentary family membership to the SEBGA.
• Eight hours of instrument education.
• Special name tag.
• Matched with other young musicians, who are encouraged to play together and form their own band.
• Opportunity to play on stage, develop stage presents and microphone skills.
